The dedication of the girls in the group was highly commendable and was rewarded when the choir received second place in the Under 1B and Juvenile Choral Section at the Brisbane Eisteddfod. The Camerata Singers including a number of other girls, who were chosen by informal audition, were also very successful in gaining First place in the Light Opera Section with a beautiful rendition of selected pieces from "MY Fair LadY". Very special thanks must go to Miss Cook and Mrs Hughes for their time and dedication in the conducting of this choir: everyone had a lot of fun! Over half the group is leaving as Year Twelves at the end of this year, but we are confident that with the amazing vocal talent constantly displayed in this school, the group will have no difficulty in retaining its
The Camerata Singers, a vocal ensemble group, formed by audition, comprised a fine group of slngers from B.C.C.S. numbering seventeen in all. The group met once a week and was proud to display a repeftoire ranging from English Madrigals to )azz pieces. During the year, the choir sang at a large number of school f unctions including concerts, parent/teacher introductory evenings, music committee meetings and at the Champagne Crunch after the launch o1 the building fund.
