August Mr John Topley, Registrar of Criffith University, was our guest speaker. We are supporteci anci encourageci in aii our activities by the Principal, Mrs Judith Hancock, and we are grateful for the help provided in so many ways by the teaching staff, office staff, ground staff and boarding house staff. Their help is invaluable.

contributed much, the lmbil Support Croup has built a dormitory block for the lmbil Outdoor Education Centre, the Music Committee has raised funds for new musical instruments, while the Old Cirls' Association and the Parents of Past Students contributed towards activities on School Day.

FATHERS'GROUP The Fathers' Croup has attracted strong support from members. Whereas numbers attending the monthly dinner meetings have fluctuated, this has been more than offset by actual participation in work undertaken around the school. Attendance at meetings and demonstrated support of the Principal, Mrs Hancock, have been appreciated. A strong sense of belonging with respect to the school has been maintained to the mutual benefit of both the school and families. The major fun-raising endeavours of the school have focussed attention on the needs of the school. Fathers have been encouraged to feel a strong sense of satisfaction with their indirect financial contribution through work undertaken. Main activities within the school grounds have comprised fence removal and car park development. Major earth work was involved and without the organizational ability of the Treasurer, Mr Brian Ash, this could not have been achieved. School Day was strongly supported by fathers. The food provision was highly successful and provided a sense of satisfaction to all involved. Croup morale based on fellowship and sense of achievement has developed. Many fathers worked with skill and commitment under the leadership of the lmbil convener, Mr Peter Wilson. His report will no doubt reflect the work of the group. Fathers with girls no longer at the school continue to support the group. Clearly their satisfaction is indicative of the drawing power of a group strongly committed to the welfare of the school. This report would not be complete without acknowledging the work of the office bearers. The treasurer, already mentioned, has kept the group financially viable. The secretary has not only been recorder but an active organizer for School Day activities. All members are to be thanked for their suppott. PETER VARLEY

Parents, girls and all members of the Parents and Friends' Association worked extremely hard on School Day, this year combined with the Launch of the Restoration and Building Funcl Appeal. Not only did parents work on stalls for School Day, but also catered for the official Launch. The result was a very happy day, and a wonderful financial success. The profit to the Parents and Friends' from this day was donated to the Restoration and Building Fund. A second activity of the Restoration and Building Fund Appeal, the Fun Run was supported and catered for by the Parents and Friends' while members participated in a welcome to 'l 990 Crade Eight parents in October. The Valedictory Dinner for Year Twelve girls and their parents was sponsored and organised by the Parents and Friends' Association. We have contributed in three major ways towards school amenities and facilities in 1989. An Apple Mclntosh Scanner and lmage Writer was purchased for the History Depaftment for the use of Crade Eight students, the block of iand adjacent to the present lmbil property was bought to allow for the expansion of the Outdoor Education Centre, and the dormitory building erected by the fathers at lmbil was funded by the Parents and Friends' Association. Each year we try to promote fellowship and interest in educational activities amongst the parents of the girls of the School by holding meetings to which the whole school family is invited. This year a very successful welcome to new parents was held in February and a most interesting evening of discussion and information was held in May when Mr Bourke, Mrs Colwill and Mrs Lynch were guest speakers. ln
