NETBALE. Netball once again proved to be extremely popular with the Crammar Girls in 1988. Although the season did not officially begin until third term. The enthusiasm was shown by the number of people attending trials and, when the teams were eventually chosen, attending those dreaded 7.00a.m. trainings in quest of a premiership in too o0. All teams were fortunate to have dedicated and experienced coaching to make the season successful. The nine rounds of the winter season were played on successive Saturday mornings, with the majority of games being away. Thanks must go to the Crammar umpires who followed us wherever we went - in particular Craham White, Ed Little and old girls, Linda Brusasco and Sallyanne Johnson. The results of the 1988 Netball Season were as follows: Team Coach A - 3rd J. The "Netball News" proved to be a huge success, as in previous years, with everyone waiting in anticipatic;t io read the goal shooter awards and the team reports for each week. This year the lnterhouse Netball competition \'/.rs reintroduced and organised by Stephanie Tsui. Tnis airned at giving those girls who missed out on making th-' school teams, a chance to play and keep their skills going for next year. Representative honours this year go to our own A Grade Legend, Kirsten Moore, who was not only selected in the U17 State Team which competed in Sydney, but was also chosen in the U17 Australian Talent Squad which trained for a weekend early in August. Well done, Kirsten - though it's a pity you missed St Peter's! Other state players this year include: Ann-Maree l-iili (Coach "B"), Kathrin Sherman (Coach "9A"), Bronwyn McMillan (Coach "BA"), and last but not least, Miss Derrington, who was successf ul in being chosen in the State Open Netball Team once again. Although the lnterschool Netball is not a popuiai- spectator sport like the G.P.S. Rugby, we stillappreciaie the supporters we get - which are mainly our parents - so thank you to al the Mums and Dads who came oLrt to watch Saturday after Saturday. Finally, after thanking everyone lshould have, I remember the most important people of all, TFjl PLAYERS!! You were all superb, dedicated, enthusiastic and most importantly brilliant netballers! Hope you had an enjoyable season and best of luck fo;' next year. J. Kaesehagel Ca Ptain
