1985 School Magazine
YEAR 11 REPORT Yep, it looks like that crazy, weird and (might I add) wonderful mob actually made it through yet another year as boarders at Girls' Grammar. So far, Grade 11 1985 has been a year to remember for all those involved ... The year kicked off to a flying start with four new additions to our dorm. - Vicki, Prue, Harshita and Sonja. They brought our numbers up to 24- the biggest grade in the Boarding House! Wow! We had become the Powers in the Common Room (we chose what to watch), and were on washing-up for the last time (no more scrubbing 100 knives, forks and spoons!) and were invited to the famed Marist Brothers' Semi-Formal for Grade 11 's only. Actually we went to two of these- the second being most embarrassing as we Grammar Girls were the only ones who went fancy dress!! In second semester, we lost two of our dormitory mates; Harshita and Susan Kent. For Susan Kent's farewell we all trooped off to the Pizza Hut. (Much to the waiter's horror, six pizzas for the 27 of us!) That night was heaps offun and very filling! shone forth as actors/singers/dancers/beauty queens. When "Miss Boarding House" was put on our wonderful Mime Artists, Cathy and jo, were given a standing ovation (sort of) not to mention our latest Broadway impersonation - "G rease". Owing to the fact that "G rease" was such a success, we were forced into doing a return season of the masterpiece on "School Day". Next came our beautiful sing-song, and then we were forced to retire from the stage for the presentation of "Miss Boarding House". Though our nominations, Sue Priebe and Lara Pritchard, did not win, we all think they came equal runner-up! Well, that about wraps up 1985 for the time being- and though all 24 of us have shared some very strange (and more often hilarious) experiences in 1985 . Who knows what will happen NEXT year?!?! Needless to say, Grade 11
