1984 School Magazine

ARTISTIC GYMNASTICS REPORT Cymnastics for 1984 started as usual with a meeting for those interested in participating. The numbers however were staggering and there were several of the Grade light girls already at ct ntt Grade level. (putting some of us 'oldies' to shame !) A change was made this year to the training times from morning practices to night time trainings. This unique idea proved to be very successful as the time was used very well. (Probably because it didn't mean getting out of lovely warm beds early on winter mornings). A lot of time was put in by allth" girls and th"y worked very hard f or the important duy, the e.c.s.s.s.A. Cymnastics Competition held at St peters Lutheran College on the 2nd of June. The results may not show this but they really put in a tremendous effort. A Grade - 4th B Crade - 6th & 7th

Mrs. Magnusson RHYTHMIC GYMNASTICS

Another enjoyable and successful season climaxed on the 'lst of June this year where the B.G.G.S. Rhythmic Cymnastics teams competed in the Q.C.S.S.S.A. Rhythmic Gymnastics competition at St Peters Lutheran College. Our teams performed brilliantly, achieving first position in the Hoop and Ball and third in the Ribbon. This was an appropriate reward for our gymnasts as many hours were spent at morning trainings and on several weekends. Many thanks should go to our coach, Mrs Magnussoh, who put in hours of her time creating our aesthetic routines and training such successful teams. Kelly Baisden

I would like to personally thank Miss Williamson for her untiring assistance in coaching and organization. I would also like to thank the outside coaches who came in to help and the senior girls who helped me a great deal. The time for me was very rewarding and I hope the rest of the girls got as much out of it as I did. KEEP UP THE CREAT EFFORT AND GOOD LUCK FOR NEXT YEAR! Sue Sin namon
