&,g@RET@RI {SLANP R.EP@R.g' (-ln Saturday rnorning 23rd of ,{pril, approximately thirty girtrs, and a handful of staff and some of their families, all guided by our intrepid leader Mr. Stuart, met at Ctreveland. Everyone arrived with tents, sleeping bags and other little luxuries (troad), ready to clamber aboard the Tangaloorna barge, and begin our Moreton trsland trip. Saturday afternoon was spent establishing our campsite. On Sunday we went swimming, hiking and hooning, thanks to the "Bevan" driving talents of Ken Caitraghan and Mr. Stuart. We visited the lighthouse ared all found peace with nature sitting among the goats, the cool breeze in our hair, staring out into the wide blue ocean. Nights were very enjoyable sittlng around the campfire, singing and listening to guitar playing by Mr. Stuart and Wendy Morris. Sunday night was especially interesting as we held a concert. tr doubt that anyone, especially the victimised staff, will ever forget the artistic talents the Grade tr1's have in relief sculpture. On Monday rnorning after packing up in the rain, we drove back to the barge, stopping on the way to play on the huge sand dunes. Thanks must go to the staff who accornpanied us: Mr. L4iies, N4iss Barker, Miss Turner, Mr. and Mrs. Callaghan, Mr. and Mrs. Siddle and family, Mr. and Mrs. Fairley and dearest Xtobert whom we all (cough, cough . . .) love and of course to Mr. Stuart who organised the tour and even found us a real toilet. We had an excellent long weekend on Moreton and we all enjoyed ourselvcs very much. Just a hint to those of you eager to go next year. Get your death-adder proof socks from Mr. Stuart now and avoid the last-minute rush! Anne Rogers Year 12
