ENGE,ANE} ffiSUSE R.EP{I}RT England took off with a flying start iri ng83 with a stupeirdous F{ouse Bar-B-Que. This inspired the Ftrouse io even greater heights lvhen we won the Ii-nouse Swirnining, to make it "3 for E in'83". Without the amazing eheer squad, that rnade their debut at ihe earnival, and the excellent efforts of Staeey 1\.{cn-ennan, Kris tsush, Mary and .nenny F{asseli, Arnanda Cook and trtrelen Earry, tliis result would not have been achieved. The highlight of the Choral Cornpetition was the performance of ,Amanda Moore. Thanks xnust go to Sharon Kirkwood and,Arnanda for the enorrrlous ar-nount of effort which provided the ground work for a winning performance. The marvellous displays by the England gymnastics team gained the house a third in the competition. tJnfortunately we siipped to a fifth in the ,Athietics. England has never treen a house futrl of good runners, rather a house full of rnarvellous swiinrners. Tnianks should go to the F{ouse Seniors, Viee-Captain, Sports Captain and Ms. R.ant who gave up rnany lunch hours to train the tsallgames tearns. A.nn Stevens (Year 8) was the highlight of our house at tlee ,Athletics when she won not only the Age Charnpionship tlut the overail charnpionship. Ferhaps our athletics is {ooking up! None of these suceesses would have been possible without the support that the entire house has given. {n particular the F{ouse Seniors, narne{y lVfarSr {-Xasu*11 4y*ut 8), Sue F{unt (Year 9), Wend3r N.4orris (Year n0), & .nane n-aidlaw (Year 11) and the Year X2's as a whole gave unselfishly. A sterling job has been done by iBridget .trohnson in her capaeity as F{ouse Sports Captain and Andrea Griffin as House Viee-Captain has aiso been ver3' supportive.
