Report from Head Boarder This year has seen a lot olchanges within theboarding house. The iacelift given to the house was quite extensive with the renovation of the dining room into a dormitory and the Old Assembly Hall into the dining room. Upstairs was fully carpeted and the senior girls received new furniture. However, with all good things come disadvantages, and in this case. as all Grade 9's will tell, this "honour" was bestow- ed upon them. Until the Easter holidays, these girls were hidden away in the top floor olthe Humanities Building with two seniors and a mistress, waiting, waiting, waiting . . . Apart lrom the physical changes to the house, we were also inundated with a large group of new girls. To enable their af- liliation into the boarding house, we held our annual "Get to know each other" night the first Saturday of term. This prov- ed a great success with a range ol talent emerging from the girls. Karen and Susan Davis stole the limelight with their singing, although they did not mind sharing this with Kim Dowling, from Grade 8, who won the concert with her dan- cing. Following two dances with the "men" next door, we decided it was time to reveal our superiority with a sports day. This was highlighted by the "lron Man" Competition. Although the seniors were obviously still suffering from the dance held the night belore, the juniors were victors with Caroline Tur- nour winning the event. The boarding house was well represented in all sports, with girls competing in the G.P.S. swimming and summer and winter fixtures, as well as the interhouse competitions. Perhaps the most victorious sporting event for the house was the 4BK Team Trot held in March. Margaret Banflf, Alicia Moller and Alison Overland combined with Grainia King to lorrn the winning team for their section. These girls became TV personalities almost overnight when they appeared on Channel 7's "Sportscene". Although we did not excel in the interhouse sporting competition, the boarders deservedly took lirst place in the R. T. Jefferies Choral Competition which was held in August. Thanks must go to our new Mistress, Miss Hooper, who was our conductor, to Mrs. Best,
