Acie Alexina Gillies Memorial Prize lor Stringed lnstrument was donated in 1970 by her sisters, Merna and Valda, past pupils of the school: Cameron Retchford. Wight Memorial Medal lor Music was donated in '1891 in memory of Miss Wight, formerly a pupil of the school, and a teacher on the staff, who was drowned in the wreck of the Quetta: Susan Voss. Beryl Blanche Steedman Memorial Prize for Drama was presented by Mrs. P.H. Bailey in memory of her aunt, who was a senior English mistress at the school. This prize is awarded to the girl who has done the most outstanding work in connection with Drama: Fiona Fox and Wendy Armstrong (aeq.). Merle Weaver Prize lor Public Speaking was donated in 1954 by Miss Weaver, a former member of staff: Lyndal Taylor. Betty Woolcock Challenge Cup presented by the late the Hon. Mr. Justice Woolcock and Mrs. Woolcock in memory of their daughter, Dorothy Harper Hyne (Betty), is awarded for the encouragement of an original produc- tion in the English language by means of an Essay, Story or Poem: Christine Woodgate. D.E. Catt Memorial Prize lor Service in the Boarding School was donated in 1970 by her daughter, Mrs. LM. Cribb, in memory of her mother, who had been a member of staff in charge of the boarders: Jennifer O'Donnell. Special Principal's Prize lor Outstanding Service in lda Woolcock Challenge Cup a gift of the tate the Hon. Mr. Justice Woolcock, a former Chairman of the Board of Trustees, in memory of his wife, is awarded to the pupil of Level 12 or Level 1 1 , who has shown the best public spirit as a schoolgirl: Anna Joughin. Munro Challenge Cup was presented in 1929, in memory of Mrs. E. Munro, mother of two old girls, Helena and Jessie Ruth Munro, is awarded to the pupil of Level .12, Level '11 or Level 10 who has proved herself best in work, sport, and public spirit: Alison Harris.
