.THE HOUSE' Temporary, secret, The house lay
Protected by its blanket walls Spanning f rom chair to chair. The table top Underneath made a good ceiling. ln its warm, stuffy half light I read, I slept, I lay Looking at the star patterned wall, A corona of pink surrounded a star, And through the pin prick in the centre I could see my mother.

ODE TO LITERATURE Ghenghis Khan never had to Sit and write on the economic Situation of China; And Kubla Khan was merely the Result of an opium smoking Coleridge. Hadrian's Wall used by Henchard Still stands, yet Hardy died Years ago. Should Sir Walter Raleigh Place his cloak upon the ground For me, I would surely Think him queer. Yet Shakespeare was not as gay As to woo his dark lady; And mourn the failure of his Son's will to live. What is life that cannot find The golden thread of meditation And seek through transcendental Eyes. To say I love thee, far and more Than clouds of distant skies, Speak to me Brutus, Of your empire, long and gone, Through lines of prose and praise, And Richard the Third, Your hunchback shows, and Your lamp shines bright

And, stretching to the sky,
U nending.
And chains,

chains.
U nbreakable
ln the middle, Me'
Between the Walls,
invincible
Walls. Surrounded by chains, Binding me.
I thought I was trapped,
eternally.
Alone.
But you came,
You gave me your hand, Your love.
The walls crumbled
