1979 School Magazine

This year also saw an upgrading of the standard of um- piring, with associatron umpires controlling our matches. Although we initially found it difficult io adjust to their style of umpiring, I am sure we all appreciated the lift in the standard of the games. Mrs. King musi also be thank- ed for her asssistance in umpiring where association umpires were not available. Of course, special thanks must go to Miss Harvey who worked extremely hard to coach all teams. She spent the majority of her mornings, lunch times and afternoons on the netball courts and we are extremely grateful to her. Next year I hope you can keep up the effort and perhaps claim a few more premierships - best of luck. Jenny Rose,12D.

NETBALL REPORT 1979 brought 3 neiball premierships Grammar's way. Congratulations go to the 'B' grade, 'C' grade and grade B 'B's who remained undefeated throughout the season. The 'A' grade were separated by a draw with State High from the premiers St. Peter's. This is the closest a Gram- mar 'A' grade has come to a premiership in many years, however it could have been even closer still. The grade 9's and grade B 'A's were both runners-up also. Overall I think this is the best season Grammar has had since I have been at this school.
