HOCKEY REPORT 1978 This year the school participated in two hockey competi- tions:- the Brisbane Women's Hockey Association at Downey Park and the G.P.S. in which B.S.H.S., l.G.G.S., Clayfield College, St. Aidans and St. Peters also par- ticipated. This is the first year G.P.S. hockey has been played and we had three teams competing:- Senior A, Senior B and Junior A. Our Junior A team came second to B.S.H.S. At Downey Park, our Senior B Team, after a bad start to the season, {inished well and missed out on playing in the semi-finals. The Senior A team finished the third round at the top of the table and after winning their first semi-final went straight into the grand final which they unfortunately lost to South West United 1-'10. However, the season was not altogether disappointing because Libby Mirls, a Senior A player, was chosen to represent Brisbane in the State Championships held in Mackay in August.
