Das Deutsche Gehunken Fest (oderCarnival) Es ist ein schiine Summer Abend und am Deutsche Club the Din sind deafinink. Leute im alles peculiar kostomes, lachten und gigglinkund sind gliicklich. Das Musik beginnt und der Frince und die hincess tanzen before keelink over (trunken?) Es ist ein Osterfest. Wir haben Ei races und kostume judging before das Grand Parade of alle Leute. Wanneer Kartofttrsalaf mnit Speck (Hot Potato klad with kcon)
To Serve 6 to 8 9 medium-sized boiling potatoes (about 3lb), scrubbed but not peeled
r/z lb. lean bacon, finely diced 2 ozs. finely chopped onions 3 tablespoons white wine (or) cider vinegar 3 tablespoons water '/z teaspoon salt '/' teaspoon freshly ground black peper 2 tablespoons finely chopped parsley
tsoil unpeeled potatoes briskly until they show only the slighest resistance when pierced. Don't let them overcook. Drain the potatoes, ttren peel and cut them into 1/+ inch slices. Set aside in a bowl covered with aluminiurn foil. Cook bacon irr a mod- erate frying plan until brown and crisp. Spread out to drain. Add onions to the fat nemaining in the pan and cook, stirring frequlently, for about 5 minutes, r-lntil soft and transparent but not brown. Stir in vinegar, water, salt and pepper, arxd cook, stirriatg constantly, for a minute. Four the hot sauce over the potatoes, turning the slices about gentny to coat thern eventry witle the sauce. Stin the reserved bacon pleces into the salad. Taste for seasoning. Sprinkle salad with parsley. Serve at once.
