This is my first year in Australia, and also my first time away fnom home. { like - Austraiia even though it has different customs, food, language, weather, and way of living lrom my home countrY - Indonesia. In the first few months it was quite hard for me to adaot with this new environment, but thanks to all rnv hi.. friends I have here, who have helped me in miny *ays, now { am getting used to the way of liv- ing here. -I am sure { will miss this place when { go home after { finish my studY. Although my name is Georgina, I am very often being called Brenda or Amy or even Yoko. They were-my fellow Asian friends of last year and despite the facl that they have finished school some time ago, X am still mistaken all the time. Chatting away with Australian friends il -qy favourite bccupation when chances are available and that is why I have inherited an Australian accent which nobody could understand when I returned home to Hong Kong last Christmas. Yet, to be honest, I am very proud of it because to s-peak English fluently was one thing I couldn't do when I firsi came to Australia four years ago.
