GRAMMAR. SENGER,S

Camp at Greernwood The choir departed for Greenwood in private cars on Friday the 25th June - those parents game enough to drive with their kids did so and were only too glad to be rid of them for the weekend. Those fortunate enough to leave later had the privilege of racing Uncle Barry along Gympie Road at 5 m.p.h. in peak hour traffrc. How disappointed we were to find then that there was nothing even remotely inter- esting showing at the Aspley Drive-in. After unpacking, the usual game of soccer began on the playing field, and as always, continued in spasms throughout the weekend. Thanks go to the girls (including two of our past members who came up to the camp especially) who helped with the cooking on the camp - the food was surprisingly edible. l)inner was followed by a programme of dancing which despite the cold weather, left everyone hot and exhausted by 1 1.00. By 4.00 the next morning the more eager mem- bers were down at the soccer field, and by 6.00 a bleary-eyed bunch of supposed singers emerged yawning (mostly due to a complete lack of sleep the night before) and headed for their favourite spots; sportsmen to the soccer field, beauty queens to the showers, cooks to the kitchens; the remainder, we can only assume were too tired to corne and face the world befone breakfast. The morning was spent in part rehearsals mixed with Aussie/Grarnmar Singers Rules, touch football and soccer. Eefore lunch we all came together for a full "N4essiah" rehearsal. The various sports con- tinued during the afternoon to the accornpaniment of clicking cameras and laughing at the less-athletac players. A retlearsal of tlee "Bavanian F{ighlands" before drnnen was intenrupted by news of a runaway horse, gallantly retrievd by sorne of oa.lr courageous male rnenabers who, for the rest of the night reminded us rather strongly of the nature of the paddock they had been in. Dinner was followed by two films; a cartoon and "Scrooge". Latetr, tbaose who had qaot alneady fallen asleep witnessed a thick fog and a somewhat repulsive odour corne over the camp, and eventulally wandered off to tred. Sunday rarornimg was taken up witle--r-elaxarag, some group singlng asnd a slnort service.
