{tf.'aving f,*rcu Owing to a very full first term, the IV and VI formeis were unable to do any lifesaving awards this year. However the II, III, and V formers hope to make up fot this by the awards they will do. The Inter-house competition vzill be decided with- the completion of these awards in third term. On April 6th, at Musgrave Park Pool, the Mc\X/hirter Cup for Inter-school competition, was held. This year another new system was intro- duced. The same sections of lifesaving relays, individual and pairs championship, rescues and releases, and resuscitation were included. How- ever, in this year's competition only seven gitls made up each team, each girl participating in every section. This new competition demands more lifesaving skill, and its success illustrates the growing enthusiasm shown in lifesaving. St. Margaret's must receive the highest congratula- tions fot their achievement in winning all three grades, although Grammar showed itself com- petent with overall fifth place in 'A' and 'B' grades, and second place in 'C' grade. All teams would like to thank Miss Hatton Mrs. Salzman for the time and effort they in training the teams. We wish the 1.969 teams the best of luck. - L.S. and took
