This year, the club hosted an educational information session on the Russo-Ukraine conflict with guest speaker, BGGS History Teacher, Mr Moffat. Open to all Year levels, the session facilitated valuable dialogue between staff and students and provided attendees with the tools to engage with the ongoing Russo-Ukraine situation in thoughtful and informed ways.

Later in the year, the club was also fortunate enough to attend the Model United Nations Summit at The Southport School on the Gold Coast. After months of dedicated research, students participated in the two-day course, which focused on current international affairs including Security in the Asia Pacific, and Nuclear Energy. During the event, participants liaised with other nations, brainstormed proposals, and debated on resolutions imitating real UN decrees. Kit Leach (12O) was awarded the Prize for best Senior Delegate for her impressive representation of North Korea. Highly appreciative of this enriching experience, the club’s members look forward to attending similar conferences and participating in the United Nations Club’s invaluable debate in the future.
