YEAR 8 CAMP

‘Camp was exhilarating and allowed all of us to push outside of our comfort zones. I made lots of new friends and got to know every girl in my class.’ – Sienna Howden (8O)

‘Year 8 Camp was a fun and out of the box experience. We worked in groups to complete activities such as high ropes and canoeing. New friendships were formed and existing bonds were strengthened. Whether it was raining or sunny everyone got involved and had a good time.’– Danika Fisher (8L)

‘At camp this year we got to experience a variety of activities, such as canoeing, bike riding, and hiking. Our class got to know each other better and it has made us all closer. My most memorable moment on camp was playing games in the creek and working with each other on the high ropes.’– Sophia Nguyen (8E)

YEAR 9 CAMP

‘Year 9 Camp is the best experience I have had at Marrapatta. Although things were slightly modified because of COVID-19 we still had an amazing time getting closer with our Grammar sisters. Thanks to Miss Treadwell, both Emily Ryan (9E) and I were able to complete the high ropes course!’ – Sarah Catchpole (9W)

‘This Marrapatta journey was one of the most amazing experiences I’ve had. Marrapatta helped me step out of my comfort zone and open up to new opportunities. The activities pushed everyone to try their best and work together to overcome challenges. I have learned to notice my surroundings more.’ – Annie Liu (9B)

‘We really enjoyed spending time around the camp fire at night and singing together. We bonded as a group and had the opportunity to get to know each other much better. Although some of the activities were challenging in terms of physical ability, everyone was extremely supportive. Our teamwork and optimism helped us make it through and the camp was an experience we will cherish forever.’– Blue Group Week 7 ‘The Year 9 Camp at Marrapatta was fun and memorable. At the beginning of the week I didn’t know the majority of girls within the group, but through various activities including high ropes, canoeing, bike riding and the camp-out I made lots of new friends. One of my favourite memories was coming together in a circle around the campfire and telling jokes, riddles and playing games. I enjoyed my camp experience and would do it all again.’– Tiena Packard (9G)

‘At BGGS, Marrapatta is one of the most unique experiences you will ever have. Not only do you learn the responsibilities of looking after our environment, you also become so much closer with your peers through team-building exercises and activities. These include high ropes, canoeing, bike riding and camping in a tent with people for up to three nights. Marrapatta is one of my favourite adventures. For me it holds vivid memories of friendship, teamwork and responsibility.’– Chloe Martin (9W)
