Prize Book Cresting
Prize book cresting
• The staff of the library are responsible for organising the cresting of prize books.
• Generally, books chosen by students are sent for cresting twice in the year.
• The first call for cresting will be made in Term One. A second collection of books may be required but only if ten or more books are submitted after the first intake. • Book vouchers and instructions about submitting books are included in prize envelopes handed out at the Final Assembly and Prizegiving. • Notification is made via the Daily Notices for students to submit books to the library staff at the Circulation desk by a specified date. • Dust covers are removed and retained by the students and books should have the prize bookplate affixed to one of the first pages. • Special requests, e.g. for specific positioning of the crest, should be securely affixed to the outside of the book. • Arrangements for the return of books to students who have left the school are included on a Post-It note inside the book: for example, the name and House Group of person at school designated to collect the book; or a contact phone number or email address.
• All students will be contacted by email to collect books.
