The exchange was a wonderful experience for both of us; we discovered the endless differences and surprising similarities between Australia and France! MARGOT BLIGH (12R) AND AUGUSTIN ANGER (FRENCH STUDENT) ‘I hope to visit Australia again because it is so sunny and everyone is so friendly. There are so many different sports and Blue Day was fantastic! CHLOÉE CAO (FRENCH STUDENT) It was very good. My favourite part was going to Moreton Island and Dreamworld. I think when I go back to France I will miss my host family the most. MAUD SWISTEK (FRENCH STUDENT) It was such a great experience for me to have a sister for two weeks. We had so much fun together and with the other exchange students. I made a friend I will keep forever. GABI PAGANO (11B)

FRENCH Hosting a French exchange student for two weeks was an invaluable cultural experience. Not only could I improve my French, but I could also help my French student with her English and understanding of Australian culture. It was also lots of fun showing them around Brisbane and for them to see what it has to offer, and making a lifelong connection with someone on the other side of the world. They loved all things Australian — trying vegemite and lamingtons, walking around South Bank, and talking about AFL. Their stay with us was short but sweet — only nine days — but the friendships we made and the things we learnt from each other will stay with us for a long time to come. ■

Early in Term II we were lucky to have twenty-one German exchange students and two teachers in our midst from the Werner-Heisenberg-Gymnasium in Neuwied. It was such a great experience to take in these students for a short while and see Brisbane through their eyes. Their remarks on the weather, the animals, the beaches, and our School certainly reminded us how lucky we are to be living where we are.
