SENIOR DRAMA

JUNIOR DRAMA My favourite part about Drama is that it allows us to challenge ourselves and build confidence. Drama helps build skills that not only benefit us now, but also in the future. JESSICA BROWN (9H) This year Drama has opened lots of doors for me. I have learned a wide variety of skills to develop my acting and it has also helped with group work. This year has been different to Year 8 as we have worked in smaller groups and has been lots of fun! LAURA KIMBLE (9E) I never had a particular passion for Drama until I came to BGGS. I have developed an overall love of the subject, the teachers, assessment and all classwork — Drama is definitely Personally, studying Drama has been one of the most uniquely rewarding experiences of my secondary education. I’ve studied Drama across junior and senior and this subject has shaped the artist I have become. In Drama I have learnt about a variety of theatre practices and conventions, including Realism, Physical Theatre and Brecht. This has broadened my skill set and deepened my understanding of this extraordinary art form. FREYA MCGRATH (12L) DRAMA CAPTAIN Drama has equipped me with numerous skills that I have been able to use across subjects and in everyday life, such as confidence in speaking and putting myself out there. Having only studied it since Year 11, I regret not considering it earlier as you create bonds with peers that other classroom environments do not cultivate. TAIT MCGREGOR (12L)

one of my favourite subjects. ELLEN WINNING (9E)

Drama is my favourite subject and I always enjoy going to class. I always find the presenting tasks to be the highlight of the year. I have also enjoyed seeing live theatre and I have broadened my responding skills. MIRANDA JONES (9O) Early in Term I, the Year 11 Drama students were invited to take part in the Queensland Theatre Company’s performance of Macbeth . It was fitting to pay homage to one of Shakespeare’s most thrilling and bloodcurdling plays, especially after previously studying the play in English. From captivating fight scenes to imaginative re-enactments of the Macbeth’s slow decline into bedlam and a superbly crafted and very sinister set, the play was greeted with enthusiasm by all the girls. The visit to the production was hugely successful, and proved to be very useful in helping us refine our creative analysis skills and to further explore the relevance of the classic plays in our own class work. PERSIA ADIB (11G)

Drama has been an amazing experience this year. Our teacher is always positive and has helped me portray different characters. My favourite task was the movement piece in Term II. My knowledge of Drama has really expanded this year. PORTIA GREENSILL (9L)

Drama has given me confidence and allowed me to express myself in different ways. I have made great friends in Drama and it’s one of the classes I look forward to most in the week. AILISH LUKE MARTIN (9O)
