Thanks must also go to the Music Support Group, parents who volunteered to decorate, organise tickets, and even assist in transporting all the music instruments back to school in the early hours of the morning. Final thanks must go to the music teachers, who have worked non-stop ensuring that the night truly showcased the wonderful work we do in the Music department. The extraordinary night of music-making is a testament to their selflessness, teaching and patience. You made our Gala not just ‘the music of the night’, but a night of music that will be remembered for years to come! ■

A special congratulations must go to all the soloists who displayed an outstanding level of skill and dedication to their instruments. On violin, Catherine Chan (12R) and Alexandra Crilly (12E) played an exquisite rendition of Vivaldi’s Double Violin Concerto in A minor . Emma Anstey-Codd (12E) and Gabrielle Bennett (12W) wowed the audience with their beautiful performance of Barcarolle . Claudia Cameron (12B) and Georgina Nichols (12M), accompanied by the Big Band, performed a phenomenal and soulful duet in Round Midnight , and Merinda Dias-Jayasinha (12G), who entertained and amazed with her captivating rendition of It’s Oh So Quiet . The music of the night rang through the room and all the girls involved had a truly amazing experience. Thanks must go to all the girls who volunteered to work behind the scenes on the night. From the cable runners to the ushers, your help ensured a night that was both professional and smooth. The audio visual team must be given huge congratulations for ensuring the best sound and capturing the concert on
