Holiday Access

Expectations and protocols for library access and use during the holidays. 1. The library will be open every day during the holidays. Library hours are 7.15 am – 4.00pm. 2. Students may access the library and conduct regular borrowing transactions on any of these days. 3. Students are not expected to wear school uniform. 4. The library staff will open levels 1 and 2. [More on request, if demand warrants more spaces., especially during the study session week.] 5. Normal protocols are expected: a. no food or drinks, except for water bottles; b. polite and restrained noise levels; c. the designated silent areas [L2.05 and L3.05] is just that – silent; d. equipment and bags are to be kept to a minimum and stored out of walkways; e. students should use their lockers and not leave bags outside the building; f. bookings for particular areas can be made ahead of time by emailing the circulation 6. Library staff will be in attendance to assist with resource location, borrowing, etc. 7. The library circulation desk on level 1 will be closed for breaks at morning tea [11.00am – 11.30am] and lunch [1.30pm – 2.00pm]. Staff will be available in the staff room in an emergency. 8. During the second week of the September school holidays, a. supervising staff will be responsible for the good behaviour of the students in study sessions; b. the library staffroom and kitchen facilities will be available to supervising staff. desk [not for whole days but for individual sessions]; g. no furniture is to be moved from a library space; h. spaces will be left neat and tidy.
