Street . Mrs. Trout entertained with a very interesting 'Talk on China Painting'. On behalf of the Association a presentation was made to Miss Barbara Lansbury, the retiring President for her untiring efforts during 1965. ' Welcome t o New Members On 18th March , 1966, in the Jacaranda Room of the Can- berra Private Hotel our President , Miss Robyn Holt welcomed the guests including many new members to our first function for the year-a Fork Dinner. As we wished to honour one of the staff who was relin- quishing full time teaching, Miss Maclean was invited as Guest of_Honour to this evening. Miss Holt presented Miss Maclean :,Vlth a_ suitable gift and I feel all Old Girls join with me in wish- mg Miss Maclean a happy retirement . She will be greatly missed at the School and those of us whom she taught realise how for- t1;1nate we were, not only scholastically, but also for her help given so freely at all times . Barbecue As requested by members at the Annual General Meeting the Committee arranged a Tennis Afternoon, Barbecue and Dance at the School on April 16th. An enjoyable time was spent but the support from members left much to be desired. For a func- tion such as this much thought and preparation are needed and besides the financial loss incurred it is far from encouraging '. Old Boys' ,and Old Girls' Ball . Th~s yea~ the ~01!1-bined Ball was held at the Queensland Umversi~y Umon Buildmg on Friday, 1st July and surpassed all expectations both socially and financially. Once again we thank the Old Boys ' Association for arranging the Pre-Ball Party and congratulate the Ball Committee for their organisation. School Day Following on the two previous years a Fruit Salad and Ice Cream Stall was conducte4 by the Association at School Day held on Saturday 17th September, but unfortunately was not HS ,vell patronised as in the past . 72
