BASKETBALL NOTES After much hard conditioning, training and many practice matches we approached the Basketball fixtures enthusiastically. The thanks of the A team go to the Kedron Park Training Cola lege teams and to the G.P.S . Old Girls' team who provided happy, but hard competition for us.

BASKETBALL B TEAM - 1966 (Left to Right ) - C. Nosworthy (Capt .), G. Hardy, S. Squire, D. Bu,chanan, G. Smith, L. Kleimeyer , T. Gay (Res.) Absent - D. Stevens. All teams were successful in the first three matches. The fourth and final matches in our zone for each team were keen and well played. The Eighth Grade and B teams were defeated by the Brisbane State High School, who then went on to win their respective premierships. Sincere congratulations to the High School in winning the three premierships . The C grade team tied with State High in the fourth match and in a later replay was defeated. The A team defeated Brisbane State High School and went on to win the premiership from Somerville House . The A team has not won the pennant since 1963 when it was tied with Brisbane State High School. We extend to Somervill~ House our congratulations and thanks for the hard fought and enjoyable match. The traditional match played against the Old Girls on School Day was won ( the A team is ashamed to say) by the Old Girls 20-18. The Old Girls team are still very "young" and could not be allowed to feel "old girls"-hence the conceded win! This year the Inter-House Competition was divided into two sections-a Junior and a Senior section. Gibson House won the Senior section and Griffith House won the Junior section. Gib- son House won the Basketball Challenge Shield. To Mrs. Winter and Miss Hardcastle we extend our thanks and appreciation for their enthusiastic help and guidance during the season.
