The attendance of over 60 guests was very pleasing and Mrs. Gehrmann was able to report that the School Library project had reached the stage of draft plans and approaches to the Trustees, all of which were reported in last Year's notes. In token of appreciation of the work done by Mrs. Gehrmann a small gift was made to her at the At Home . On what would have been our usual Old Girls' Day, we were greatly honoured to have His Excellency, Sir John Lavarack, perform the ceremony of the Laying of the Foundation Stone of the School Library on Saturday, 14th April, 1956, and also to have present, Lady Lavarack, Mr. W.
