2017 School Magazine

ARTS FEST ArtsFest 2017 was a week-long festival in May, which showcased and celebrated the incredibly diverse range of artistic talent that Grammar girls have to offer. As a fairly new school tradition, we decided that ArtsFest this year should not be limited to a few lunchtime performances, but expand to open rehearsals and co-curricular workshops, whereby any girl could come along and observe the important ‘behind the scenes’ rehearsal process.

Brisbane Girls Grammar School boasts an incredibly impressive variety of arts activities, both in classrooms and in co-curricular activities. ArtsFest was the perfect way to encourage girls to ‘Work the Quirk’ in a more public space, where passion and creativity could be recognised and celebrated by the entire school community. We had a range of music, drama, visual art and poetry performances throughout the week, which culminated in the opening of the Senior Drama Production — one of the biggest and most exciting arts events on the School calendar. Overall, ArtsFest was an enormous success, and we were incredibly proud to witness so much talent, support and hard work from every girl involved.
