The Truth About The Knave of Hearts

Penny Minrphy The Girls Grammar Drama Club Julitor Production of Card Play was performed in the Gelrrmann Theatre on Saturday November 1st. Kakina Torenbeek, the club leader, directed the production, ably assisted by Claim Einerson from Year 10. David Foxton's witty dialogue was brought to life by the slapstick antics of characters from all over the world. The play explored the adventures of a pack of cards - pun intended - as each card took on a character of its own. The OSI "knavistt' card characters schemed to steal an the trophies and gold medals at the Bridge Club Cup Final but the p or was overheard by the Intnor "cards" - especially 20 or "Little rite", the two of diamonds and 60

There were jinx-ups, disguises, and ajam tart competition before the confusion was resolved

The audience really enjoyed the director's use of Chicago card sharps and showgirls and will never look at playing cards again without remembering being "trumped" by this production.
