On Friday the 2 of April, ten girls plus coach Mrs Chits Moore and manager Ms Peta Richaadson headed north to Cairns for the Queenshnd Under U Water Polo Tides. The tom consisted of Steph Boughen, mison Cox, Brine reaman. Sutie Finger. March IC^s. Nitki Martin. less Moles, Anna Moore, Calmn On and Kim Thornpson. Spirits were high as we hadjust completed Grimm"r's most successful seasonever - eight reams into mud finals, four premierships and the 'Q-Soft' Tide as Champion Girls' Schoolof the Stole At the State Under U Championships. there were six terms competing - four from the Brisbane area, one fro Mackay and one from Cairns. The second game of the day was against Cairns and proved to be a runaway win for BCGS: 19.1 Easter Sariirday dawned with tropical stormy on the horizon and the heat and humidity had us seeking some air conditioning between games First up was a game against Combined Maroon - girls from River City SomerviUe and the Gold Coast. Superior teamwork lead to a 3-2 victory for BCGS. After lunch, the game against Markay proved to be another easy game with our Boone Nildd Martin taking to

the field and scoring a goal, BonS winning 15 3. The last game of the rounds was agains archiivals from Brisbane, Stuarthoime, the game ending in a nan-biting draw 3-3. This enabled us to hish on top of the table with all team members contributing to the scores an early sum to Grand Final day ^unday saw us ready to fire and we defeated Machay 20-0 in the major semi-foal. in the final Iator that afternoon, we met Sin^Qinie once again. The final score. 3-1 to BOGS reflected the tight defence and incredible teamwork dis layed by all the BGGS players. The team was presented with medals and the Shmyn Gist Perpetual Trophy for the Champion Under U Girls' Tom in Queenslv, d. Six girls have been named in the Queensland Under n Squad to train through to make the ream for the National Chum 10 in Sydney. They are Steph Boughen. Man Cox, Some Fro^r, Nitki Maim, less Moles and Anna Moore Special Ihnnkc must go to our coach Ms Moore, Dor manager Ms Richaadson, the BGGS Water Polo Club for supplying our mint-bus, Mr & lvfrs Timer of night Centre and W John Moore of Thynne & Macariney for sponsoring our am foms. it was the perfect end to a perfect seamn!
