Ninety-seven old girls attended the Class of 1985 30 Year Reunion and 1975 40 Year Reunion held on 17 October 2015.

OGA ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING The Annual General Meeting of the Old Girls Association was held on 12 April. The Association’s role and purpose were reinforced at the meeting as follows: • ‘Friendraising’ for the School and enhancing its reputation • Supporting School events and activities • Sponsoring and assisting with organising functions and events, particularly reunions, to forge links among Grammar Women and old girls and strengthen connections with the School • Maintaining the School’s traditions and championing the School’s strategic directions AUSTRALIA DAY HONOURS FOR GRAMMAR WOMEN Two Brisbane Girls Grammar School old girls have been recognised for their achievements in the 2016 Australia Day Honours. Emeritus Professor Gwendolen Anne Jull (1965) has been appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) in the General Division for her distinguished service to medical education in the field of physiotherapy, as an academic, researcher and administrator, and to professional associations. Group Captain Sandra Patricia Riley (Fryer, 1983) has been appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in the Military Division) for exceptional service to the Australian Defence Force through her contribution to the development and deployment of the aeromedical evacuation capability in the Royal Australian Air Force. We congratulate these Grammar Women on their outstanding achievements.

• Passing on the School culture and its spirit to new generations of Grammar girls and women • Forming networks for mentoring and career/life skills development The 2016 Committee Members elected were: Mrs Janine Schmidt AM (Hogg, 1964) as President, Mrs Grainia Schmelzer (King, 1981) as Vice President, Mrs Leigh Fielding (Gow, 1984) as Secretary, Mrs Ann Stubbs (Westaway, 1982) as Treasurer, Mrs Salliann Powell (Johnson, 1986), Mrs Kirsten Whip (Macallister, 1981), Mrs Jenny Gray (Vallis, 1969), Mrs Julie Caton (Cleghorn, 1981), Mrs Sylvia Pegg (Gaulton, 1965), Mrs Sue Jordan (Squire, 1967), Mrs Christine Purdy (Farmer, 1984), Mrs Ann Caston (Pressland, 1958), Mrs Dorothy Bourguignon (Scotney, 1958) as members and Mrs Pauline Harvey-Short (Harvey, 1971) as the School Representative. NEW YORK EVENT On 6 February, old girls from alumni years 1960 to 2009 joined Principal, Ms Jacinda Euler, and Deputy Principal, Mrs Anna Owen for afternoon tea at The Lowell New York. Ms Euler and Mrs Owen were in New York for the National Coalition of Girls’ Schools’ 2016 Global Forum on Girls’ Education. The event provided an opportunity for relationships to be built in the lead-up to the Australian Independent Schools USA Foundation 10th Anniversary Alumni event to be held in New York on 1 October.
