Access- Staff
• Library staff should be informed if special facilities, services, resources, or personnel are required. As much notice as possible would be appreciated. • Assistance from teacher librarians, Librarian: Special collections, or the Academic research librarian should be booked in advance via email directly to the staff member required. All appropriate library staff may be contacted via the GGlibrary email group if this is more appropriate. This email group also reaches the Senior librarian, the library assistants, and the circulation desk workstation. • Special borrowing and access to resources for subjects or classes should be organised with library staff before the start of a new unit or task. This ensures all students receive equity of access. • Students should be encouraged to be independent by locating the booked area themselves and settling down quietly to work, even before the teacher arrives. • Students should be prepared by staff before they arrive at the library space. They should know the lesson and the library space. Please refer to the following table to discern which space best suits the subject, the task, and the class.
