Beanland We also had the honour of celebrating Beanland’s 30th Birthday, where we reflected on the history of Beanland and how our unique spirit sets us apart. The celebration was complete with pink cake and a visit from our past two Heads of House. This year, we supported DigIn—an organisation providing home-cooked meals to Brisbane’s homeless—as our House charity. We were drawn to this charity because it resonated with our values of community and empathy. We raised money for DigIn through our iconic fairy floss stall on Open Day, which is always a crowd favourite!

This year, Beanland House truly embodied our motto, No Limit to Pink Spirit , showcasing our boundless energy and enthusiasm in everything we did. From decking out in pink costumes for Interhouse events, to cheering on our Beanland sisters, our spirit knows no limits. We kicked off the year with a ‘Throwback’ themed House Party, where everyone dressed in creative pink costumes inspired by the past, and enjoyed an afternoon of music, dancing, and games. The fun continued throughout the year in our weekly Miss Beanland competitions during House Assemblies. These year-level contests including ‘Guess the Movie’, ‘Keep the Balloon Up’, and the ‘Ping Pong Ball Race’, brought everyone together in friendly competition. Some highlights from this year include: our Interhouse Choir performance of Pompeii by Bastille; the Grade 7s embracing the pink spirit with the support of their Year 12 Buddies; and cheering on our Beanland sisters at the Interhouse Athletics and Swimming Carnival. A special shoutout must go to our fellow Beanlander, Cate Ward (11B), who won School Swimming Champion—we are so proud! What made this year particularly special was our new initiative of spirit sticks— pink, decorated sticks designed by each Beanland House Group. These became a symbol of our collective energy and spirit and appeared at many House events.

We are so proud to have led Beanland in 2024 alongside our Beanland Sports Captains, Sophie Dwyer and Ruby George (12B); Service Captains, Elsie Butler and Charlotte Clayton (12B); and Prefects, Alyssa Godinho, Eloise Langguth, Georgie Falting, Grace Grant, Molly Gregory, and Charlotte Zentveld (12B). We owe a big thank you to Head of Beanland House, Mrs Sacha Cross, whose passion and leadership made organising House Assemblies run so smoothly. We also want to extend our gratitude to our new Head of Beanland House, Mrs Sally Callie, for stepping into the role in the final term and guiding us with the same care and enthusiasm. In 2024, Beanland proved that there truly is no limit to what we can achieve when we come together with passion, pride, and a whole lot of pink!
