Jump Rope For Heart
This year, our Year 7 cohort participated in a fundraising event—Jump Rope for Heart. Embracing the playful spirit of primary school recesses, students traded their usual classroom routines for a lively skipping competition that sparked both nostalgia and House rivalry. House Groups were at the centre of the action, turning the skipping challenge into a spirited contest. The friendly competition allowed students to show off their House spirit and skipping skills, making the event both engaging and memorable.
The Jump Rope for Heart event combines physical activity with a charitable cause. Students had heaps of fun playing with friends while staying active, and we even had the Sherwood Arrows—skipping demonstration team from Sherwood State School— come to the School to launch the program. The team’s support of the Heart Foundation reflects their dedication to making a difference, which encouraged greater participation and support of Jump Rope for Heart. Overall, the Jump Rope for Heart fundraiser was a great success. It provided a meaningful opportunity for students to connect with a cause larger than themselves, all while enjoying a day filled with fun, competition, and physical activity. Health Promoting Schools
Health Promoting Schools (HPS) is a school Service group dedicated to promoting healthy lifestyles in our BGGS community. HPS creates a fun and welcoming environment with girls from all Year-levels volunteering their time to support us. Whether it be manning stalls, pinning ribbons, making posters or producing hype videos, our club relies on our amazing student volunteers and coordinators, Ms Minuzzo and Ms Leone, to make every event a success. Each year we run an iconic Bliss Ball bake stall, a healthy lunchbox competition, the Staff-Student Netball match, and promote our cause throughout Cervical Cancer Awareness Week. We also enjoy running a healthy lunchbox colouring competition for the Year 7s to show off what they’ve learned in HPE about food groups! All funds we raise go towards the Australian Cervical Cancer Foundation, and with the amazing support from teachers and students, this year
HPS has proudly raised $1409.09 in donations. Emily Fletcher (11M) and Neve McNab (11B)
