Woolcock Our role as the 2024 Woolcock House Captains was a gift, filling our year with fun memories and new experiences for us and all our Woolcock-atoos! Woolcock House embodies unity, support, and positivity—values we showcased at numerous events this year. We kicked off the year strong with our annual House Party that featured an overload of polaroid photos, a buffet of treats and pizzas, and a dance competition where the girls had a blast and set an exciting tone for the year ahead. This energy carried through to the Interhouse Choir and the Interhouse Swimming and Athletics our ability to always look on the bright side, just like sunflowers turning to face the sun. An initiative Year 12 Woolcock has implemented this year—with the aim of encouraging participation and attendance at Interhouse events—is the ‘Woolcock Cup.’ This inaugural competition is held between the six Woolcock House Groups, with points awarded to the House Groups with the most attendees and highest participation rates. The House Group with the most points at the end of the year will have their name engraved on the cup and be crowned Woolcock’s most spirited House Group.

Carnivals. Though we didn’t win, the effort and enthusiasm from the House were victories in themselves! On Open Day, 11 Woolcock organised a successful Open Day stall, selling pizzas to raise funds for Richie’s Rainbow Foundation, a Brisbane-based charity supporting childhood cancer research and families. Amid these events, Woolcock House met weekly, combining all Year-levels for fun and unique activities. From guessing teachers' ‘fun facts’ in Kahoot games to Pass the Parcel, every Woolcock-atoo participated creating a special atmosphere for this year. Our 2024 House Motto— Facing the sun, blooming as one —encapsulated the support within our Woolcock community that we've cherished since Year 7. This year has been unforgettable, thanks to our fellow Woolcock-atoo sisters and our devoted Head of House, Mrs Violet Ross, whose sunny disposition and unwavering support guided us throughout the year.
