2024 School Magazine
Interhouse competitions highlighted our unity, spirit, and enthusiasm. From war-cries to purple face-paint, the Gibbies shook Chandler to its core at Interhouse Swimming recording a magnitude of 10 on the spirit scale. We are eternally grateful and appreciative of our House Sports Captains, Sophie Crane (12G) and Asha Stewart (12G), who work incredibly hard to ensure that every Gibbie has the opportunity to participate. For the renowned Interhouse Choir Competition, Gibson performed an epic rendition of Coldplay’s Something Just Like This , led by our wonderful House Choir Captains, Keira Crouch (12G), Dorothy Rae (12G), and Abigail Bratic (12G). Ultimately, the legion walked away with an ‘unconfirmed’ fourth place (we have a strong suspicion). Throughout the year, we traded our fierce competitive spirit for a more compassionate one, fundraising for our House charity, Mercy Without Limits. This charity provides education and support to orphans, women, and families in need around the world. Our main fundraising event was a massive success, with Gibson’s famous strawberries and ice-cream stall on Open Day selling out before the end of the night! This year has flown by, and every Gibbie should be immensely proud of all that we’ve achieved along the way. We are deeply honoured to have had the opportunity to lead the legion in 2024 and to witness the Gibbies embody a spirit better than the rest . We extend our gratitude to our Mother Gibbie, Mrs Hazel Boltman, who has supported us every step of the way. As we embark on this new chapter, we hope that our Gibbie sisters will continue to strengthen their purple patriotism. So, see you later, and remember that

wherever you go, you will always be ‘Gib-blessed’. Elizabeth Roe (12G) and Audrey McCauley (12G) HOUSE CAPTAINS
This year, 12 Gibson developed the motto: Better than the rest, we are Gib-blessed #Gibblessedin24 . We wanted our final motto to encapsulate the love and pride we feel in our legion and to inspire the purple patriotism in every Gibbie. While our motto ‘unfortunately’ did not eventuate in first place at every Interhouse carnival, this year we have been incredibly proud of the Gladiators unrivalled spirit, enthusiasm for house-related activities, and eagerness to get involved. Starting the year off with a bang, our ‘Purple Through the Decades’ themed House Party saw girls decked out head to toe in purple—from first century Gladiators, to Teletubbies, to Ice Spice dupes. Gibbies participated in the annual doughnut-eating competition, Monte Carlo , and of course a Just Dance or two. And with that, our newest Gladiators (Year 7s) were officially Gib-blessed into the legion, and the Gibbies were ready to rumble. Fridays quickly became our favourite day of the week, as House Assemblies brought the legion together for some quality bonding time. What better way to wrap up the school week than with pancake and pastry breakfasts, bride and groom costume designing (using toilet paper and alfoil of course), Kahoot! , and cookie decorating?
