THE DUKE OF EDINBURGH'S INTERNATIONAL AWARD

The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award program involves participants aged 14 to 24 undertaking a series of activities in four key areas: skill; physical recreation; and service. Through the program, you’re also given the chance to go on adventurous journeys. Some highlights include hiking at K’gari (Fraser Island), Moreton Island, Girraween, and Cooloola National Park. There are three levels to the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award—Bronze, Silver and Gold. Each level has specific requirements in terms of the duration and level of commitment required in each of the four areas. Successfully completing the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award program is a significant accomplishment that demonstrates a young person's dedication, leadership skills, and commitment to personal development. Also recognised by universities, employers, and organisations, it is a framework that allows young people to expand beyond their capabilities and cultivate a sense of resilience. We hope more girls at Girls Grammar sign up to this valuable program which provides many learning opportunities and creates lifelong memories! Isabella Kim (11L), Iha Agrawal (11R), Keira Crouch (11G) and Molly Cooper (11W)

The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award is an internationally recognised program for young people, building their skills to equip them for life and work.
