W elcome to the Brisbane Girls Grammar School 2020 School Magazine . What a year it has been. The COVID-19 pandemic created circumstances that challenged us to find new and creative ways to participate in school life this year. In the face of such adversity, our resilience as a sisterhood has been astonishing. We have held true to our BGGS ways and managed to preserve many events placed in jeopardy by the pandemic, while bringing new traditions to life. In 2020, the Publications Committee endeavoured to create a memento that showcases the defining moments of strength and sisterhood from the girls and young women of BGGS. Every girl has truly lived the Student Council’s motto: 2020—Me and You, Be the Glue that Binds the Blue. The motto became our guide early in the year when we were physically distanced during remote learning. With the support of each other, and our wonderful teachers, we remained connected while apart. We embraced the opportunity to develop our independence as learners, and learned to adapt and be patient. We appreciated the little things and truly were the blue that binds the blue. It is with heartfelt gratitude that we thank our BGGS teachers and professional staff for their unwavering commitment, which ensured this year was filled with wonderful learning opportunities and joyful experiences.
