NETBALL
A ll BGGS netballers this year proved themselves to be driven, spirited and enthusiastic players. The BGGS teams all managed to place in the top five on their respective ladders, which is a reflection of the dedication and sportsmanship of every girl who competed. We had three teams take home premierships—7B, 7C and 10C and three teams finished undefeated—8C, 9C and Senior C. The 9B team placed second and the 7A teams, 8B, Senior A and Open teams placed third.
N W e were very excited to take up the role of Rhythmic Gymnastics Captains in 2020. Despite the cancellation of the QGSSSA competition, girls maintained great enthusiasm and energy at training. Attendance, particularly in the younger Year levels, was commendable. Working on routines without a competition allowed the squad to be more flexible and creative with their routines, as well as take more control over music and choreography. It was a great opportunity to try new things without fear of failure—one of the perks of the unusual season. Although Rhythmic Gymnastics faced some challenges due to COVID-19, girls have come out stronger and better
Congratulations to every girl who contributed to these fantastic results. The commitment to Netball from all was evident throughout the season and truly captured what the BGGS spirit is about. We must also commend the enthusiasm and drive shown by our Year 7 players in their first season of Netball at BGGS—amazing work and the results to prove it! The talent and spirit in these new players has without a doubt been influenced by the work of our committed coaches. Without the coaches, staff and our incredible Netball Coordinator, Ms Rees, such as successful season would not have been possible. It has been an honour to be Netball Captains and lead the girls in

than ever. We hope these new developed skills can help girls next year and that the legacy of Rhythmic Gymnastics at BGGS can continue to thrive. Lastly, we would like to thank Rhythmic Gymnastics Coordinator, Ms O’Gorman, and our Head Coach, for their tireless efforts in this year’s season. They have not gone unnoticed and it means a lot for the senior girls to still have the opportunity to train together as a BGGS team for the final time.
