GALA CONCERT— ODYSSEY

CO-CURRICULUM

O n Saturday 19 October, Girls Grammar hosted its annual Gala Concert— Odyssey —the premier event on the Instrumental Music calendar. The curated program included a cinematic element, transporting guests on an adventurous and epic musical odyssey accompanied by vibrant, live musical performances. The repertoire performed spanned centuries, adventuring to distant parts of the globe as well as through time and space including Robert W. Smith's The Iliad , Matthew Orlovich's Tides of Ocean and Nat King Cole's Straighten Up and Fly Right . The School’s Instrumental Music students from the Choral, Strings and Band programs provided performances that were incredibly accomplished and deeply inspiring. From solo performances by Chelsea Davidson (12G), Martina Marrama (12G), Laura Verdasco (12G) and Emily Yu (12O), through to massed items featuring more than 500 performers, girls should proud of their outstanding achievements. Congratulations to all performers and Instrumental Music staff on presenting and preparing a spectacular concert. Rebecca Groves (12H), Laura Verdasco (12G) and Emily Yu (12O)
