BREWING
You gently let me know you’re there You are the feelings that trickle from my thoughts You calm me until the noise in my head is still You come from a place no one has ever been Until they can’t breathe anymore
You are pitter And patter
And drip And drop
I feel the crushing weight on my shoulders Like Atlas holding up the sky
Waiting for you to notice me is like a cumulonimbus waiting for the moment it can release all its worries The moment you leave my world is like petrichor, bittersweet with the memories of what was before
They all use umbrellas To stop you from reaching their hearts But why would I When I can feel you cover me And soak through my skin Replace the blood in my veins Until I feel your cool touch wash my body into abysmal surrender When life is stirred by the hand of the maker You seep into people’s lives and soak their noisy thoughts Until all anyone can hear is peace You are love
