2016 School Magazine

LILLEY EAPFROGGING LILLEY 2016 has been exceptional year for Lilley House, proving once and for all why we are called the Lilley Legends. Leapfrogging off our success in 2015, Lilley was more spirited than ever, bringing enthusiasm and zest to every event. With one of the largest group of girls yet, we embraced both the School’s theme of #blunity and our own house motto, ‘Hop into 2016’. We kicked off the year with a jungle-themed house party, with the girls dressed up in their finest greenery, including our 2016 Miss Lilleys, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Lilley girls spent a fun-filled afternoon partying with pizza, games, an epic round of limbo and a whole lot of dancing. After a great start to the year, the Lilley girls continued to leap higher, putting all of their spirit into Interhouse Events. Hopping into the pool at Chandler, the girls toad-ally showed the other houses who was the biggest frog in the pond, swimming their way to success. The girls also embraced the challenges of Interhouse Cross Country and Athletics, not only winning ribbons but unleashing their true green spirit. Lilley House once again brought home the Student Staff Relay Trophy, much to the cheers and excitement of the girls. The enthusiasm and fun-loving natures of the girls ensured House Assemblies were always a joy to attend. From breakfasts to quizzes to Interhouse Choir rehearsals, the girls formed bonds across all year levels. As the year leapt along, the Year 11 girls again showed at Open Day why the Lilley Fudge Stall is always a marvellous success. Selling out in record time, with more fudge than ever, Lilley managed to raise a substantial amount of money for our House charity, Hope for Alec. Both this and the opportunity to welcome the incoming Year 7s made the night both enjoyable and rewarding. In 2016, Lilley House has truly come together, making for an unforgettable year. We could not be prouder of our Lillians and all they have accomplished. The achievements and success of the house are indebted to Mrs Edwards, our Head of House, whose ongoing support and passion has ensured that we’ve had a ribbeting year. The pond is greener and better than ever, and we could not be more excited for the girls to continue the spirit that they have brought this year. L-I-L-L-E-Y-H-O-U-S-E LILLEY HOUSE!
