2016 School Magazine

TIGER PRIDE The inner tiger of every Hirschfeld girl was unleased this year. 2016 has been by far our most successful year in history. Not only did we cross the line first in cross country and athletics but we had the most incredible spirit and involvement from every girl. Along with our school motto of blue unity is opportunity, #blunity, our House goal for this year was to unite every House group. We did this by creating 13 tiger prides, which consisted of 2 girls from each year. This allowed the girls to bond over house activities and have someone to talk to in every grade which we think is very important at school as it provides a familiar support network. We kicked off the year with a safari themed House party where we grooved with the new tiger cubs. Each girl was able to customise their own pair of tie-dyed socks for this year’s House events! As a new initiative, Hirschfeld also introduced custom caps that girls could purchase to match with their House shirts, along with custom named headbands for every girl in the House. We really were a vision in orange! This increased the spirit and enthusiasm and ultimately encouraged more girls to get involved and support the House. HIRSCHFELD

Hirschfeld has a very rich family vibe; we consider each Hirschfeld girl not only as a friend, but also as a sister, including our Head of House, Mrs Dabelstein. We believe the position as House Captain is much more than a badge. It is about care and compassion for every girl along with a sense of enthusiasm and competition. In 2016, every Hirschfeld tiger embraced the true orange spirit, and we are so proud to have led such an amazing group of girls in our last year! ELIZABETH PERRIN AND GEORGINA RANKIN HOUSE CAPTAINS
