LILLEY LEGENDARY LILLEY JULIA SHIRLEY AND GABRIELLA PALM HOUSE CAPTAINS

or Athletics Day, our sporting achievements and abilities shone through. From winning ribbons, cheering or chanting our war cry from the stands, Lilley showed its spirit and was stronger than ever this year. The enthusiasm continued with weekly house assemblies, which were used to form bonds between year levels through a range of activities such as quizzes, musical performances and our occasional delicious pancake and pastry breakfasts. To help with this bonding process, we initiated the idea of ‘green groups’ that sees at least one girl from every year in a green-themed group which all compete in bonding activities during the assemblies. As Open Day rolled around, the Year 11s put together a marvellous stall selling our renowned and most delicious Lilley fudge, managing to sell out in record time. The substantial amount of money raised from our success with the fudge was given to our house charity — the very fitting Lily House. Open Day was also a great opportunity to meet and welcome the incoming Year 7s into our Lilley army. Lilley has had a year to remember. We could not be prouder of our Lillians. They have truly gone above and beyond the puddle. Our great achievements could not have happened without the unconditional support from our Head of House Mrs Edwards, our wonderful house group teachers and house prefects. We have no doubt in saying that the spirit and enthusiasm demonstrated this year by Lilley House continues to show how us Lillians are the biggest frogs in the pond.

2015 has been an outstanding year for Lilley House, showing Girls Grammar just how legendary Lillians are. Leaping to new and impressive heights, Lilley House was toad-ally submerged in Lilley spirit making the other Houses green with envy from the very first day. A new era began in 2015 with the introduction of a new year level — the Year 7s. Along with a fresh bunch of Year 8s, our Lilley newbies leapt into the pond with enthusiasm by rivalling other houses in Interhouse Volleyball and Debating, exhibiting commitment that continued throughout the year. The year’s festivities were kicked into gear with the annual Lilley house party, the most ribbiting event of the season. It was a great way to swamp the tadpoles with Lilley spirit. Lilley girls were dressed to impress in their green attire, partying through an afternoon jam-packed with games, pizza and a whole lot of dancing. As the year progressed, the true Lilley spirit was revealed through various interhouse events. Whether it was the Swimming Carnival – the event where us Lilley frogs know how to make a splash, Interhouse Cross Country
