EXQUISITE ENGLAND LAUREN MCPHERSON AND LILY CILENTO HOUSE CAPTAINS
the rest’ and finish in first place. Cross country was another extremely exciting, and successful, house event where all girls tried their hardest and achieved an amazing second place. Our England sisters were able to show off their exquisite sporting talents on the track at Interhouse Athletics. Fuelled by support, determination, enthusiasm and lollies, our girls ran, jumped and soared into second place, led by our amazing house sports captains Elizabeth Trusler and Eliza Smyth. At Open Day, the Year 11s led our service mission, raising funds for our house charity Youngcare. They organised our England stall, showing true leadership and commitment to the house, selling icebergs and churros with great success, as is England tradition. While we are sad that this is our last year in the nest, we are excited to see what our England girls can achieve in the future. This year the girls demonstrated that if we all band together and support one another, England can achieve great things. We are proud to be leaving a unified, compassionate and supportive England house and as House Captains we will treasure the experiences we have gained over the past year. We are confident that our England sisters will continue to ‘soar above the rest’!
The beginning of the year was marked by welcoming our largest group of England Eaglets into the nest. The new Year 7 and 8s were enthusiastic to make new friends, meet their Year 11 and 12 buddies, and embrace all the new experiences coming their way. The first big event that brought all of our England sisters together was our beach-themed house party. The girls enjoyed pool lawn volleyball, limbo and dancing, not to mention delicious pizza and the annual house cake. The Year 12s were sad to think this was their last house party, yet fully embraced the house spirit along with all the other grades by dressing in crazy costumes and indulging in delicious food. The highlight was definitely seeing more than 150 England girls come together and enjoy a very memorable afternoon. Englanders know how to party!
