MATHAPATTA LILI WACKWITZ (10H)

This year, twenty-eight students from Years 9 and 10, accompanied by Mrs Muller and five other staff members from the Mathematics Faculty, headed up to Marrapatta for an entertaining and challenging two days of abstract and practical problem solving. Year 10 students enjoyed activities such as using the high ropes courses to collect data while the Year 9s designed whirly birds to test their theories. We also had sessions on programming, proofing, geomagic squares and factorials. One of the most enjoyable bonding activities was the trivia quiz, which the teachers, not surprisingly, won. I know everyone I talked to enjoyed themselves and their time at Mathapatta and definitely benefitted from the experience. ■
