of Much Ado About Nothing . We did workshops in audition preparation, stagecraft, voice and movement skills, singing, dancing, and even stage fighting and combat skills to prepare us for the production. My minor class, Neuropsychology, was similarly awe-inspiring. From 2 to 4 pm, three days a week, the class covered a broad range of topics, from lectures on the anatomy of the brain, to discussions about language development in babies. We were also fortunate to have two guest lecturers speak to us on autism and selective language impairment and psychopathy. When not in class, we were able to explore the beautiful city of Oxford or hang out with friends in the college. OXFORD KATE WESTERN (11R)
During the mid-semester holidays, a group of about thirty students travelled to some of the top universities in the world to partake in a month-long exchange programme. This programme focussed on academic enrichment in a variety of different subjects, and was the most amazing experience I have ever had. I was lucky enough to spend one month at Oxford University, where I chose to study Drama as my major and Neuropsychology as my minor. For three and a half hours in the morning, six days a week, I learned the skills of Shakespearean acting, culminating in a production
of the whole trip was saying goodbye to all my friends on the last day. I’m sure everyone who attended will agree that Oxbridge was an unforgettable and enriching experience. ■
CAMBRIDGE KAREN SHEN (11W)
I was one of three girls from Girls Grammar who were privileged enough to attend the Cambridge Tradition Program. I can say with confidence that it was the most eye-opening experience — a definite highlight of my time. The experience provided opportunities to learn from skilled and knowledgeable teachers from all over the world, and to live true independence, have an insight into life after school and to engage with more than 270 students from approximately thirty different countries. Cambridge
Tradition offers a wide variety of courses to choose from. I was able to study International Business as my major and International Espionage as my minor. Both courses were extremely captivating and enjoyable and also challenging on an intellectual level. The Cambridge Tradition Program is definitely worthwhile considering; it is an exceptional academic programme located in a very beautiful town that provides an amazing overseas experience. ■
