2011 HAS BEEN ANOTHER FANTASTIC YEAR FOR BEANLAND HOUSE. THIS YEAR, WE NOT ONLY PROVED OUR PROWESS ON THE SPORTING FIELD, BUT ALSO SHOWED OUR SPIRIT, ENTHUSIASM AND LOVE OF THE COLOUR PINK.

The year began with the introduction of the new Year 85 to the House. They were initiated at the House Party, easily learning the ways of the Beanland Bears and wearing their most outrageous pink attire. This year's House Party saw the largest game of pass-the-parcel ever, with Year 10 winning the annual Miss Beanland competition with a stunning rendition of their song I Whip My Bear Back and Forth. Early in Term I, the girls were given a chance to show off their aquatic skills at the inter house Swimming Carnival. The swimmers were backed by an impressive cheer squad, led by the Beanland Sports Captains Bianca Testa and Madeleine Hogan. Beanland again showed high spirits at

Inter house Cross Country, where they demonstrated the highest participation of any House. it was, however, at the Athletics Carnival that our House really shone. High levels of participation and talent saw us take out the Individual Events Cup and the Athletics Challenge Cup, winning both the individual events and overall competition. In Term IV, our Year 8 debaters won the Inter house Debating Competition, and Amy Forsyth and Nikola Sterling led our talented Choir in California Dreaming. Open Day was another opportunity to show off the Beanland spirit to the public. Keeping with tradition, Beanland sold its iconic pink fairy floss and sherbet, organised, produced and
