^Ile Qinest ^^^ 01.0 As has become tradition an Year 8 students went over to Each group had to decide which target to select in their GB, for one and a half days to work with the Year 8 boys design. The group who managed to score most points in 3 minutes would win the competition. Another challenge on 'The Quest'. This year's Quest involved making an electronic payloau o device. The payload drop device was getting the balance right for your rotating arm. You resembled a crane; I had a _a ating arm on a stand had to plan carefully where you would put the batteries, which was moved by a fan. There wag electro-magnet fan and magnet holder. This was a battle because the on the end of the arm which, when two wire we e pulled boys wanted to start bonding immediately while the girls apart, dropped and hopefuly ten into one of the targ thought it was necessary to plan.

All the students learned about working with different types of people and most groups were able to work co-operativeIy. Many rooms were allocated to this event and we worked in groups of 4 or 5 with a roughly equal distribution of boys and girls in each group. it helped having both boys d ' 18 because the girls were very thorough with the whereas the boys knew a lot about electr city Pi and woodwork. Assisted by our teachers most groups were bio to use BSe different skins together to make a very BUGoeBsful payload drop device. This meant that the girl81earned more about electricity and the boys learned that planning 18 very important in creating a good device.
