""' ""'"" OF 10" it is 6.45. No sign of you. My eyes have started to wander across my setting: a man enjoying a steamy beverage spills it on his white lapel, his surprise shown through watery eyes and a gasp of hot air. I check my watch again-now 6.46. When you said you'd meet me here last night, I thought you were telling the truth this time. I thought maybe, just maybe, you would keep your promise and be here on time. Yet, now I sit here in this crowded coffee shop alone, except for a cold cup of coffee, the foam sunken into the brown liquid from my hesitance to drink. The barista has started to stare; he's seen it all before. Another 'plain Jane' stood up by her 'prince charming', and he the watchful stable boy knowing all the secrets of his coffee shop castle. He cleans his cups with disinterest, and catches my wandering eye. We sit, enraptured in the silence in which we exist - both alone, both stood up, him by life and me by a man for whom I risked everything.
