In a year where being physically active, being connected to family and friends, and being awa e of our ecological footprint has been increasing y important, Marrapatta has continued to offer exc'trig outdoor experiences to encourage learning about oneself, others and the environment. The Outdoor Education programme presented the Year 8s with many 'first time' experiences I'k backpacking, cooking, camping out and making decisions for a group. These experiences helped to develop skills they will use in their future years at Marrapatta and skills they can also apply to other settings. Their time at Marrapatta was certainly an intense week of developing relationships but times that will provide memorable moments for ye rs to come.

Year 95 started to test their skills and extend their boundaries by challenging themselves harder, both physically and mentally, for longer periods of time and further away from Marrapatta. They were also charged with more responsibility for navigation and making decisions. The canoeing leg of the journey compelled partners to work together to reach the destination while the biking leg required personal determination and group encouragement. The Year 10s arrived at Marrapatta a little reflective of their previous years' experiences and realised how far they had progressed from their own Year 8 experience. The Deer Park was no longer the arduous walk they once thought it was as they now set their sights on much longer journeys at Cooloola and Brooyar. Both journeys provided different challenges which at the time may have seemed overwhelming, but with a little personal persistence and support from friends the girls finished the week proud of their achievements.
